Chapter 144 144 Death to Those Who Break the Rules

Leo looked at the girl coldly, "thanks." He walked to the elevator and got in. He clicked the top floor and waited until the doors opened. Leo stepped out and walked to the double doors. He knocked on the door and when he heard the buzz he entered the room. "Asurlon, sorry for the delay. What would you like me to get started on?"

"Leo, you are as strict as usual. I thought you would loosen up a little now that you have a fiance." Asurlon looks at leo then pulls out a stack of papers.

Leo took the stack of papers and sat down at the other desk in the office. "I'll tell you this as well. My soft side is only for her. I will not be softer on the workers here that will only let them think that they will be able to walk all over you." He reads the hunt profiles and sorts them into four piles. "I am taking it that these are all the hunts that got posted this month correct?"

"Well, that is understandable. Yes, that is correct. You know these files best so I will let you deal with that while I call up the four members that are to be stripped of their hunter rights for violating our code." Asurlon walked to his desk and paged downstairs. "I want Micheal, Thompson, and Greg sent up to my office now!"

Leo listens to him say the three names and notices that Valdis's name was not said yet. He sorts out the information and looks at the file up next. ~Kathy Jones. Looks unknown, race unknown, kill upon contact. Suspicious and potentially lethal. She is a target that is sly and has been able to slip through our detection. Suspected to be a vampire but not proven. Said to be beautiful. Came close to catching six months ago but target fled to France haven't been able to track down.~ At the end of the report, it was signed Vladis and Greg. His hands shook in anger and he waiting for the men to show up in the hunter's head office. He set this file in a pile on its own. There was a knock at the door so Leo buzzed them in.

Asurlon kept his eye on Leo while watching the guys enter into the room. Greg stepped forward and said, "You wanted to see us Elder?"

"Yes, I have a few matters I need to discuss with you. First, I want you to know what you have been doing to the network causing an influx of targets goes against the code of the association. I know it came from all three of your computers so there is no need to investigate that further." Asurlon picked up three pictures and slide them to the edge of his desk. Second, you are going behind my back and having private meetings but you were stupid enough to have a chat log on the company network. And lastly, I will let Leo tell you."

"Lastly you eradicated a town and killed not only six demons but I also saw and witnessed you guys torturing and killing humans. We are hunters we are supposed to uphold our beliefs and you two broke every fucking rule in the book. I am proposing the death penalty unless you do a written report and submit it in an hour on why you did it and who is the mastermind." Leo says this in a clipped tone.

Greg looked at his photo and scuffed, "if you think that I am just going to give you the answers you want then you are sadly mistaken. This picture is obviously photoshopped and you are not the Elder of the association so you do not have a say on what happens to us anyways." Greg looked away from Leo.

Leo stood up and unsheathed the sword kept behind his desk. He walked up behind Greg and thrusts the sword into his heart. Micheal and Thompson were sprayed with Greg's warm blood. The blood splatters on the floor, Leo and up to the Elder's desk. "I give the two of you thirty seconds to make up your mind, one, two, three…."

"It was Valdis. He said that nothing would come of us doing this I was offered a large sum of money. My daughter is sick and I needed the cash badly but I haven't been on many hunts lately so my money was so tight. I had no choice." Thompson falls on the ground and starts crying as he said this. "My poor Elizabeth."

Micheal looks at Thompson in horror, "you realize you just signed your death warrant. Valdis will have your head for talking about this."

Leo looks at Asurlon and sees him give him a nod. Leo took his sword and cut off Micheal's head. Micheal's head was sliced cleanly off and the body that was standing crumpled to the ground. The head rolled in front of the Elder's desk. "And I will have his head for messing with the system. Let this be a lesson to you Thompson. Do not cross me. I will make your life a living hell I do believe that you are speaking the truth and I will make sure your family is safe before we confront Valdis but you can't leave this office for now." Leo wipes the sword using his shirt and then sheaths it. He pulls out a laptop and places it on the couch. "You will give me every single detail in the report but I will give you more than an hour's worth of time. You will not leave this office because then your family will be in danger."

Asurlon took a sip of tea and watched the whole thing not interfering. He picked up his phone and called a group of hunters and had them go and move Thompson's family to a safe place. He didn't say the address and simply said take them the place eight five five. When the call ended he looked at the two. "Leo, give Thompson a towel so that he may get cleaned up before he writes up the report." The phone rang and he picked up the call. The person on the other end said that the family was now under their care and would be moved immediately. Leo grabbed a towel from the drawer and tossed it to Thompson before sitting back down as if nothing had happened. He continued sorting through the papers and then came across another file that had the name ~Kathy Winters. A completely unknown individual seems suspicious. Place under watch and follow up with hunter Micheal.~ 'Looks like that's not possible now. I will have to check their computers for any extra information. "Elder I do believe that I should get a closer look at their computers I found some information that is not quite what I was expecting so checking it out in person would be better than waiting for the computers to be brought up here and potentially tampered with."
