[Kaisar’s POV]
Since that day, my daily life has undergone a dramatic change. Firstly, the servants’ attitudes around me made a complete 180-degree turn. Instead of looking down on me, they probably used me to relieve their daily stress, so accepting my higher position easily came to them.
I am not a cruel person. So if they alter their attitude towards me, I won’t fire them. However, this also led to an unexpectedly delightful result where the servants’ perception of me soared.
This was because they had assumed that most of the servants would get dismissed due to their past behaviour, but that did not come to fruition. Instead, the tense atmosphere that existed during my father’s tenure as head of the household subsided, making it much easier for them to work.
Is this phenomenon akin to when you talk to someone you initially found repulsive but end up hitting it off and becoming friends, or when a delinquent performs a good deed and suddenly appears like a good person? Regardless, it is much better than being despised, so I will leave it as it is.
During my father’s time as head of the household, the servants were held to a standard of perfection in all aspects of their work, resulting in a constantly tense atmosphere. Thus, I can sympathize with the fact that the servants couldn’t express their emotions to me.
Nevertheless, I wish they hadn’t taken out their stress on me, even though it’s too late to change that now.
By the way, unlike the servants, my family members have always been proud, and they still struggle to accept their new position of being looked down upon instead of me, whom they used to belittle. They seem to go out of their way to avoid me, and I hardly ever see them. Even when we cross paths, they swiftly turn away as if they didn’t notice me.
Furthermore, they’ve threatened to expel any servants who don’t adjust their attitudes towards me, leaving them with no choice but to behave courteously towards me and the other servants.
As a result, their stress keeps accumulating with each passing day. I informed them that if they dislike their current circumstances, they can leave the household anytime they want, so I’m choosing to stay out of it.
After all, if they aren’t content with their life here, they can simply leave.
And the butler, Sebas, has undergone the most significant transformation. He claims to have found someone he genuinely desires to serve wholeheartedly, and I’m allowing him to carry on as he wishes.
However, I would prefer it if he didn’t always try to be by my side.
“Why do you look so grave? We could even start a family right now if you’d like.”
Moreover, the haughty elf seems to have entered a rare mating season atypical of her kind since that day. Thus, I’m attempting to avoid her as much as possible.
