*BOOM*
The arrow exploded right in front of the energy wave and it created a massive energy curtain. Both of these clashed together and negated each other.
Gail felt the energy wave, but he didn't budge.
"So, the core is indeed inside that mountain."
"Yes, it is. There is no point in hiding it since I am already here and it is actually a trap."
"Of course, you would think so. But all I can see is that you just made my job a little harder."
Gail extended both of his hands and energy riled up in the surroundings.
Hayan who is hiding somewhere said out loud in a quivering tone.
"Come fast assholes, I won't be able to hold him off for too long."
Meanwhile, back in the Mari clan's camp.
"What the hell? Who went missing from the city all of a sudden? And a person of that high level?"
Sivan said it out loud in a panicked state. He almost wanted to connect to the formation to make sure he is not missing anything.
But Avlyn once again stopped him to not disturb Cray.
"Whoever it is, if they are really posing an immediate threat, we will know soon enough."
She said softly and within a few minutes, a subordinate of hers came running in to report.
"Madam, Gail was reported to be at the core on the west side. Hayan is holding him back for a moment."
"Gail came out of the city? So it is him that disappeared?" Sivan asked in shock.
"That is what it seems."
"Then what is the point of this attack? Even if you slow down the rest of the powerhouses, Gail is enough to make you guys stuff your tails between your legs."
He said it out loud in frustration.
Avlyn looked at him coldly.
"What are you looking at? You guys are pissing your pants while my father is just sweeping a glance at your face. Do you really want me to believe that you are not scared of Gail?
Even my father doesn't dare talk down to that guy. "
"You know a lot of things, but you don't know when to shut up."
She raised her hand and almost made a move on Sivan, but one of her subordinates who is also part of the dozen people from Divine league stopped her.
"There is a reason why you are getting so angry like this boss. He is saying the truth. And we cannot really go against his father.
You and I both know what will happen if Sin really goes on a rampage and we also know that there is a little chance that we can defeat Gail at all
That is why we have a plan and we need to stick to it. Let's go. We won't be getting this chance again and again. We need to make sure that we are there and Gail falls into our trap before he goes crazy angry and destroys everything."
Avlyn pushed the hand of his subordinate away, but she acknowledged his words and gave a cold look to Sivan.
She really wanted to smack some sense into him, but she knew if she did that, his father would come and smack some sense into her.
"Lucky Bastard."
Leaving those two words, she left the room along with the rest of the subordinates.
Cray and Sivan are the only ones in the room and he almost wanted to just push him off of the formation.
He is really anxious now that Gail is out of the city. Even if they really destroyed the whole city, things wouldn't be as easy as they planned.
As long as Gail escapes, they might as well not make any plan to destroy this city.
While Sivan is anxious, back inside the city, Sam is also getting anxious. He didn't know what happened. It has already been a few minutes since Gail left and there is no change in the formation. This is kind of making him feel a bit anxious.
He cannot help but overthink things at the moment.
But he still has to grit his teeth and let Gail handle stuff and move along. He controlled all of the souls around him as he moved around in the formation. The souls acted as a shield from the rest of the souls that are still glowing brightly and not letting them have a proper vision.
Sam remembered where Giyon, Grivon, and Jyon are placed and ran to their location.
When he reached Giyon, he is surprisingly holding up better.
She actually sat on the floor with her eyes closed and in a meditative state. There are some burn marks on her skin and there is a normal barrier around them.
But she is definitely composed and clear-headed.
Sam tried to wake her up, but when reached closer to her, she almost instinctively made a move and went on the defensive.
Sam sighed and called her.
"Giyon. It is me, Sam. This is not a hallucination. I am here to fetch you."
"Sam? What are you doing here?"
She asked in a surprised tone.
"Your father is out of the city, he is one of the ways to destroy the formation core. How are you doing?"
"I am alright."
"Why didn't you use your stray dimension token or something? You could have just escaped. What is the point of enduring this?"
"I don't know. I thought we would be attacked. What is the point of hiding then? I was just waiting for the enemies to come."
Sam didn't answer and that let her enter her divine dimension fragment before he carried that away along with him.
He went to meet Grivon. He is obviously in a much worse state. But he is also holding up, waiting for the enemy to attack. In fact, he even held his sword in his hands ready to attack anyone that comes near him.
Sam really felt that these siblings are way too stubborn for their own good.
After throwing him into the divine dimension fragment, he went on to Saran's estate. That is where Jyon is as well as the four kids.
As soon as he entered though, he didn't see anyone else other than Saran's wife. She is holding a ring in her hand tightly while she endured the burning sensation of light.
Sam went to meet her.
"How are you doing?"
"Sam? Is that you?"
"Yes, it is me. How are you? Are you alright?"
"Yes, I am fine. But kids. They almost fainted as soon as the souls came in. I sent them into divine dimension fragments. Jyon is also inside. Can you please check up on them?'
She said as she blindly extended her hand.
Sam held her hand and took the ring from her.
"Okay, but you also need to get into the fragment. You don't have to worry. I am pretty sure the kids are doing okay."
Saran's wife nodded her head and entered the fragment. Sam also entered the fragment, while he let Giyon take care of the surroundings. Even though she is a bit exhausted and injured, he didn't have much choice. There is no one else in the surroundings.
Inside the dimension, Sam saw Jyon take care of the children. The children are currently in an extremely exhaustive state. Their bodies are a bit burned and they are feeling extreme pain. But they couldn't even scream because of the lack of energy.
He gritted his teeth in frustration. There is one feature in the light chamber and that is to not attack any people that didn't awaken their spiritual core. It is pretty easy for the souls to distinguish. He thought that it is enough to do something like that to keep powerless out of harm.
But now he knew he is wrong.
The kids who didn't have any control of their strength but still have these special constitutions were also picked as awakened and they were attacked.
Which is obviously too much.
The only silver lining is that their mother immediately came back to her senses and didn't lose her cool before throwing them into the dimension fragment.
Sam checked up on her and immediately took some medicine to treat them.
Only after they calmed down and went to sleep, was he able to relax. Their mother also came to herself and stopped worrying overly as she gave them a kiss.
Sam came out and sent Giyon in before he walked out of that spot.
The formation is still on and he is worried about what would come from those balls that are created from gathered souls.
While he is thinking that, all of a sudden, he noticed that there is a fluctuation in the formation. All the bright yellow light has completely disappeared as if it never existed.
This made him completely shocked.
Because he should have been happy that the light is gone, but the balls of energy on top of the dome didn't go away. They are still present. That only means the other party is ready to attack which is not good news.
Sam looked at the situation and muttered.
"Do it fast Gail."
