Chapter 623 Four Pillars: Skill Pavilion

“Now, where should I head next?” Arriving at the courtyard once more, Valyr brought up all of the information he had read regarding important locations within the Gates of Enlightenment once more.

However, unlike earlier, where he only gave a brief glance to the other buildings within the courtyard, the young man now began to look at the other buildings in detail. Eventually, he focused his attention on the buildings found in the three other cardinal directions.

“To the north is the Blacksmith Knowledge Repository, while to the south is the Tailor Knowledge Repository,” muttered Valyr as he looked at the similar-looking pagodas. “To the east is the Alchemist Knowledge Repository, while the Sage Knowledge Repository is situated to the west.”

“Aside from that, there are a couple of important buildings to note in the intermediary directions, specifically the buildings at the northeast and the southwest.” As he briefly glanced at the two buildings that came to mind, a thought surfaced within the young man’s mind all of a sudden, causing him to bring up the party chat and ask the others a question.

“How’s everyone’s progress on their trials?” Sending this message to the others, Valyr looked at the other knowledge repositories within the Gates of Enlightenment once more as he waited for their response.

With how the repositories corresponding to the other classes could also be found here, the young man began to wonder whether the others would appear where he currently was. However, there was also the possibility that they would appear in a separate space that looked similar to where he was, considering that the same phenomenon happened when they were undergoing their trials.

After that, he began to walk around the courtyard to admire the unique scenery the Gates of Enlightenment offered, only to come across the exit that would lead him out of the Gates of Enlightenment and back to the initial area where the inheritance was.

Coincidentally, it was around the moment he discovered the exit did the others finally respond back to him, their responses making him wonder whether he had stayed within the Blacksmith Knowledge Repository for a bit too long.

“I’m only a couple challenges away from completing the trial,” replied Hal in his message, conveying the ever-increasing difficulty of his trial in a few concise follow-up messages. “After this, the Gates of Enlightenment told me that I could access the Sage Knowledge Repository… whatever it contains.”

“I’m pretty close to completing my last trial as well,” said Faulus in his message after Hal was done. From what Valyr could tell through the way the alchemist had written his message, it seemed that the man had made quite a few gains from completing the trials. “Just like Hal, I was told that I’d be able to access the Alchemist Knowledge Repository, though I don’t really mind if I enter or not at this point. I’ve already gained quite a lot just from completing these trails so far.”

After Faulus’ message came Loreina and Vera’s message, their messages more or less along the same lines as the messages of the other two that came before them. In fact, Loreina even told them that she had gained comprehension over an Intent Seed related to her class thanks to one of the trials, prompting the other four to congratulate her on the momentous achievement.

“Guess I’ll stay here for a bit longer.” Congratulating Faulus after the man had decided to tell the others about him comprehending an Intent Seed as well, Valyr decided to take a look at the two buildings he had taken note of earlier, swiftly making his way to the northeast direction.

With the courtyard not being that large, the young man had arrived in front of the northeast building within a couple of minutes, staring at the large wooden sign that hung above the entrance by the time he had arrived. “Enlightenment Skill Pavilion…”

With the name of the building quite self-explanatory as to what it contained, the young man did not hesitate to make his way inside, only for him to be blocked a similar energy field that hindered his travels through the floors of the Blacksmith Knowledge Repository. However, rather than the energy field dispelling on its own after waiting for some time, a monotonous voice instead faintly echoed throughout the surroundings, prompting him to think whether the reward from one of his quest would help him out.

“Only those with an authority level of 2 and above are permitted to enter the Enlightenment Skill Pavilion,” said the voice. “To verify if your authority is enough to enter the pavilion, please extend one of your arms closer to the entrance.”

Hearing the voice’s words, Valyr went silent for a bit as he scratched the back of his head in uncertainty. Trusting in the assessment the Gates of Enlightenment had given him in his trial, as well as the increased authority he had gained from the First Forger’s quest, he eventually let out a sigh as he extended his right arm outward, causing a blue light to emanate from the energy field blocking the entrance.

“Verifying… authority has been verified to be Level 3. You are permitted to enter the Enlightenment Skill Pavilion.” Watching the blue light scan his extended arm back and forth a few times in slight trepidation, the young man eventually had a light smile on his face once he heard the monotonous voice’s words. Then, as if the monotonous voice wanted to affirm to him that he indeed had the stated authority level, the energy field blocking the entrance swiftly dispelled, finally allowing the young man to enter the Enlightenment Skill Pavilion.

“I see.” Walking deeper into the heart of the Enlightenment Skill Pavilion, Valyr thought about the words the monotonous voice had spoken regarding his authority level. “Since the voice said I have an authority level of 3, then that means completing the Trial of Myriad Aberrations gave me an authority level of 2.”

“I don’t know whether or not an authority level of 2 is the lowest level you can get from completing the trials, but even if I did, I would’ve probably still been able to enter this place with the increased authority reward from that quest.” Shrugging his shoulders as he ended his train of thought, the young man eventually returned his focus to the sight before him, only to be left at a slight loss for words.

“This is…”
